4 Part-Time Jobs for College Students with a Driver’s License

If you’re a college student looking for a part-time job, options can often be limited — especially if you have a difficult class schedule and need flexible hours. Thankfully, if you have a valid driver’s license, there are a few part-time options for you to make some extra cash.
Ride-sharing
Probably the most obvious job option is ride-sharing. You can choose your hours and work when you want. Uber and Lyft have a few requirements, some of which include a clean driving record and background check, one to three years of previous driving experience, and you have to be at least 21 years old with a four-door vehicle (hauling people around in a two-door coupe isn’t exactly ideal).

Food delivery
Ordering takeout isn’t the same as it used to be. It’s not just the pizza guy and Chinese food delivery that come to your door. You can order sit-down restaurant food and have someone bring it to your door. Services like UberEats have significantly lower age requirements than their ride-sharing services. To deliver on a bike, you only need to be 18 years old. To deliver in a car, you need to be 19 with at least one year of driving experience.
Newspaper delivery
It’s a classic first job for many. Since newspaper carriers are exempt from many child labor provisions, those under 18 can make some extra cash this way. With a paper route, you can explore the area and make some money along the way.
Advertise on your car
If you’re driving around, why not make some extra cash on your regular route? Local businesses may be interested in advertising on your car, especially if you live in the area. If not, there are companies that will “lease” the outside of your car for advertising, sort of like a billboard.
