Chevrolet’s Top 5 Best-Selling Vehicles of 2018
For Chevrolet, the story was simple in 2018: If the vehicle was a truck, sales either stayed flat or grew impressively. If it was a sedan, sales took a nosedive.
Overall, Chevrolet’s sales numbers declined slightly for the year — about a 1.4% drop. But gains and losses at the individual models were much more dramatic. Here’s a look at the brand’s five best-sellers for the year, and how those sales compared to the year before.
1. Silverado (includes 1500 and HD models)
Sales were essentially flat for Chevy’s best-selling vehicle. Chevy sold 585,581 Silverados in 2018 compared to 585,864 in 2017.
2. Equinox
Crossovers saw dramatic growth in 2018, and the compact Equinox was no exception. Chevy sold 332,618 of these in 2018, a 14.5% increase over 2017’s total of 290,458.

3. Traverse
The midsize Traverse SUV also notched impressive growth in 2018 with 146,534 sold. That’s an 18.6% increase over 2017’s 123,506 sales.
4. Malibu
The Malibu sedan was one of Chevy’s best-sellers, but sales plummeted from 185,857 in 2017 to 144,542 in 2018, a 22.2% decrease.
5. Cruze
The Cruze compact car also saw a major drop in sales for 2018, with 142,617 deliveries compared to 184,751 in 2017. Not coincidentally, Chevy announced in November that it was canceling the model.
