We’ve all been there — you’ve got to navigate your way through block after block of pedestrian traffic in the city, and you’re wishing you could speed things up. Instead of renting a bike or a scooter, why not go for the Citroen Ami One? Hot off of celebrating 100 years progress, Citroen designed this easy-to-use, all-electric little buggy so everyone can have an easier time getting around town.

Inspired by their hashtag, #LibertyElectriCityMobility, Citroen aims to create a modern, cheerful, individual urban transportation solution. The ultra-compact, agile Ami One is perfect for touring a city in style and comfort.

Fun and friendly tech

Citroen worked hard to give the Ami One top-of-the-line technology and a distinct, user-friendly personality. The smartphone and the accompanying app are an integral part of the Ami One experience. The car offers a wireless charging station that holds your phone, allowing it to act as the car’s infotainment system, complete with apps, navigation, and voice commands. Even the Ami One’s sound effects were custom-made to give drivers a fun, fresh experience. The Citroen Ami One offers a visual experience, too — its graphical interface sports a cute, stylized face, so there’s a little more emotional pull when the car issues a warning or question.

A smarter way to see the city

The Ami One has a number of perks that set it above other forms of urban transportation. Unlike a bus, you can enjoy privacy and on-demand transportation, and unlike a bike, the Ami One will keep you dry and comfortable. It’s also more accessible to elderly and disabled folks, who might otherwise have a tough time navigating a big city — especially in inclement weather. You don’t even need a driver’s license to get behind the wheel of the Ami One — although you have to be at least 16 to drive the little electric cube.

Drive as long as you want

The Citroen Ami One’s commitment to freedom doesn’t stop there. If you’re looking to get a hold of an Ami One, you can purchase one, of course. But you can also drive it from five minutes to five months, to five years. At the short end of the time scale, you can hop into an Ami One at one of Citroen’s Rent&Smile stations. When you’re on the road, feel free to adjust your ride time to several hours, with no commitment or extra fees. If you want to keep it a little longer, you can get commitment-free access to the Ami One for five months. And if you’re in it for the long haul, you can lease the Ami One for up to five years, with battery, maintenance, and parking fees built into its monthly payment.

The all-electric Citroen Ami One offers up to 62 miles of range on a two-hour charge, gives off zero carbon dioxide emissions, and you can even charge it at home with an extension cord. Get a feel for the funky little EV by checking out the gallery below.
