Chevy Malibu Makes US News’ List of Nine Best Midsize Sedans for Families
Minivans and SUVs aren’t the only family-friendly vehicles. And one midsize sedan worth checking out is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu, which just made U.S. News & World Report’s list of the “Nine Best Midsize Sedans for Families in 2019.”

The editors appreciated the 2019 Chevy Malibu’s spacious, user-friendly tech, smooth performance, and ratings for safety.
“The Malibu is a good choice for safety,” writes U.S. News & World Report writer Cherise Threewitt. “The NHTSA awarded five out of five stars in their frontal crash test and four stars in the rollover test. The IIHS awarded the highest rating of ‘Good’ in five crash tests.”
The 2019 Chevy Malibu is available at six trim levels — L, LS, RS, LT, Hybrid, and Premier. The standard 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission to generate 160 horsepower and184 lb-ft of torque. The Hybrid trim is powered by a 1.8-liter hybrid four-cylinder engine paired to a two–motor drive unit hybrid automatic transmission to put out 122 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque. The available 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission to generate 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

Staying connected and entertained is a must for families on the go, and the 2019 Malibu offers a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with 8-inch diagonal touch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, and Bluetooth as standard features. An OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot is available.
