Hot on the heels of last year’s complete redesign, the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 will add new technology options and expand availability for the truck’s most cutting-edge features.

“The Sierra is delivering the tech customers want in the light-duty truck market, and the 2020 model demonstrates that Professional Grade never means slowing down,” said Duncan Aldred, Global GMC’s vice president. “In just its first year on the market, the 2019 Sierra introduced the available, industry-first CarbonPro bed and MultiPro tailgate. The truck’s 2020 updates show how the Sierra continues to raise the bar year in and year out.”

For 2020, the Sierra 1500 will offer the available Enhanced ProGrade Trailering system, which was first announced for the 2020 GMC Sierra HD. This technology includes a transparent trailer view and 15 total camera views to make towing safer and simpler.

Other trailering upgrades for 2020 include updated features and improved mobile integration for the in-vehicle Trailering App, smartphone-compatible smart trailer technology, and new trailer tow mirrors.

The 2020 Sierra 1500 will also offer the new Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera system for SLT, AT4, and Denali trims. Models equipped with an 8-inch infotainment system will now be able to support SiriusXM’s new 360L satellite radio technology.

Several new Sierra features will see wider availability for the 2020 model year, including the CarbonPro carbon fiber bed and the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine. CarbonPro Edition trucks will now be available with either the turbo-diesel or a 6.2-liter V8.

Availability will also be expanded for the Sierra’s new 10-speed automatic transmission, which can now be added to SLT, AT4, and Denali models equipped with 4WD and a 5.3-liter V8. The turbo-diesel can be paired with the 10-speed as well.

The 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 is expected to go on sale later this year.
