Per Green Car Reports’ Aaron Cole, this year’s top 10 green cars “did more with their energy” than rivals. The publication also recognized the winners for their energy efficiency as well as their overall electric range. The 2019 Bolt EV definitely embodies those two qualities. It achieves an EPA-estimated 119 MPGe while delivering a satisfying electric range of 238 miles.

The model is likely to make Green Car Reports’ Top 10 Greenest Cars for 2020 list, next year, as well. Chevy has confirmed that the model will have an increased range of 259 miles. This, in turn, should also boost the model’s MPGe rating.

Other reasons to go with the 2019 Bolt EV

An impressive electric range and efficiency rating aren’t the only draws of the 2019 Bolt EV, however. For starters, it’s more affordable than other models with an equivalent or greater electric range. (Per Chevy, this model has a starting MSRP of $36,620.) A 10.2-inch touch-screen display makes it easy to view real-time information from your vehicle, so you can monitor its range and battery levels, at just a glance. Chevy also offers a DC fast charger — which provides 90 miles of energy in approximately 30 minutes — so you can spend more time behind the wheel than waiting on the battery to power up.
