2024 Lincoln Nautilus Scores IIHS Top Safety Pick+
The new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus has earned the IIHS Top Safety Pick+, making it just one of six midsize luxury SUVs to earn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s top safety honor in its updated crash test.
Lincoln’s newest Nautilus earned green lights across the board from IIHS, scoring good ratings in all crashworthiness, crash avoidance/mitigation, and seat belt/child restraint tests. Most notably, the Nautilus was practically perfect in the updated moderate overlap front crash test, earning top ratings in every metric.
“During the crash, both the shoulder and lap belt remained in their ideal positions to control the motion of the rear dummy without creating excessive belt forces that would make injuries more likely,” IIHS writes.
To earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+, a vehicle must score at least acceptable ratings in pedestrian front crash prevention and have acceptable or better headlights at all trim levels. The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus again overachieves, earning good scores for both its standard and available headlights and avoiding a collision in all phases of front crash prevention testing.
Lincoln redesigned the Nautilus for 2024, adding upgrades including a new hybrid engine that cranks out 310 horsepower and returns up to 31 mpg on the highway. The new Lincoln Nautilus is also the brand’s first vehicle to offer the Lincoln Digital Experience, which consists of a largest-in-class display that spans the bulk of the dashboard and works with an 11.1-inch center touchscreen. And, of course, the Nautilus offers a variety of digital scents to make your experience in the cabins oh-so pleasant.
