Scion to Showcase Stunning Sedans at SEMA Show
The 2015 SEMA Show is fast approaching, and Scion is ready and waiting. The automaker is so excited for its SEMA display that it has released details about four feature vehicles four days ahead of SEMA’s official November 3 start date.
Scion will be featuring two versions of its iA sedan—one from a collaboration with Skybound Entertainment, and one from a partnership with Eddie Huang. The Skybound Entertainment iA is based on Robert Kirkman’s latest comic book, Outcast. The car is painted orange, green, and black to give it a demonic quality, and it’ll be able to move and operate of its own accord. It also boasts an automated sequence of light and audio effects for an extra spooky demeanor.
The other Scion iA on display is the brainchild of author and TV producer Eddie Huang. This sedan borrows styling cues from classic lowriders, with a chain-link steering wheel and custom swivel front seats. The car is painted metallic yellow with root beer accents, with a mural of a “human panda” on the hood. The iA is finished off with wire wheels dipped in gold.
Additionally, Scion’s SEMA display will feature two custom iM hatchbacks designed as part of the 11th Annual Scion Tuner Challenge. The challenge gave streetwear brands illest and Crooks & Castles $15,000 each to customize their hatchbacks. Mark Arcenal, illest’s creative director, built his concept based on the Japanese VIP world, giving it a sporty look along with an aggressive VIP style.
Crooks & Castles’ co-founder Rob Panlilio took another approach, adding a wide body kit and AccuAir suspension to his Scion iM. The hatchback features a black-and-white interior, an all-white leather-wrapped roll cage, and black rewrapped race seats. On the outside, the iM has custom white mesh wheels, just like his current fleet of customized cars.
All four vehicles will be on display at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, from November 3rd – 6th.
