Cadillac Global Sales See Significant Rise in June
If Cadillac holds secret plans for world domination, then last month was a step in the right direction for the luxury car brand.
In June, Cadillac’s global sales totaled 25,785 new vehicles, representing an impressive 13.8% increase. In a recent press release, General Motors attributed the gains to the 2016 CT6 sedan and the XT5 crossover.
It was the brand’s three largest markets that combined to bolster Cadillac’s June global sales increases, with United States sales increasing a modest 5.5%, with even better gains of 13.5% in Canada, and a whopping 33.7% increase in the all-important Chinese market.
In fact, Cadillac’s year-to-date sales in China are up a total 16.2%.
In its third month of sales in the US and its second month in many export markets, the 2017 Cadillac XT5’s June sales totaled 6,719. The Cadillac CT6 sedan, meanwhile, enjoyed its highest sales since it launched earlier this year, thanks in part to acceleration in its production rate. Escalade sales jumped 15% last month, as well.
In the United States, Cadillac enjoyed volume growth, in addition to securing a more premium position in the marketplace. According to J.D. Power Information Network, Cadillac’s average transaction prices were $54,279, which was the highest among full-line luxury brands.
“Earning higher transaction prices in the market indicates the rising stature of Cadillac in consumers’ minds,” Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said in a statement. “Elevating all aspects of the business, driven by rising product substance, is our disciplined approach to global expansion. In doing so, we can truly earn incremental volume growth as we build brand prestige.”
