Chevy Comments on 2015 Tahoe Z71, 2015 Suburban Z71
During the launch of the 2015 Chevy Tahoe and the 2015 Chevy Suburban, Chevrolet released a number of exterior shots of the two models, for editorial and marketing purposes. Editors noticed a strange thing, however, among the photos: Z71 badging, strange only because Chevy had made no comment on a 2015 Tahoe Z71 nor a 2015 Suburban Z71.
At the end of August, however, the automaker came clean and confirmed the Z71 package for both the Tahoe and the Suburban. However, beyond stating that we’ll get a 2015 Tahoe Z71 and a 2015 Suburban Z71, Chevy gave us nothing.
Reportedly, the automaker will release more information about package features and production timing at some point this month, though it is not yet clear when this month we’ll actually find out.
The Z71 package first appeared in 1988 on Chevy’s full-size pickup trucks, but it didn’t arrive for the Tahoe and Suburban models until 2001.
