The Chevrolet Corvette has a long reputation for being a relatively affordable performance car, especially when you compare it against the likes of Lamborghini and Ferrari, but GM has taken things one step further with its recent decision to reward its loyal customers with a limited-time rebate.
Speaking Of The Corvette: Discover all the standard features and performance ratings of the new model
According to a report from Cars Direct, Chevy started a Corvette Loyalty Program that offers a $2,000 rebate towards the purchase of a new Corvette Stingray. To be eligible, a person must currently be leasing or own a Corvette. This offer does not require the older Corvette to be traded in, but it does need to be currently insured and registered. Also, this offer does not apply to the top-level Z06 model, it’s just good for the base Stingray and ZR1 versions.
The Corvette Loyalty Program began on May 3rd and will run until May 31st. This rebate can also be passed on to individuals who live in the same home as a Corvette lessee or owner. Furthermore, this rebate can be combined with GM’s military, educator, and college discounts.
The 2016 Corvette Stingray carries a starting MSRP of $55,400 and is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that’s good for up to 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft or torque. Consumers have the choice between a seven-speed manual or eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. Chevy estimates that this powertrain allows the new Corvette to rocket from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Other notable standard features include high-performance Bembo brakes, leather upholstery, and the Chevy MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay compatibility.
The $2,000 rebate brings the price of the new Stingray down to $54,395. That’s when you throw in the mandatory destination charge.
