Did Steph Curry Buy His Wife a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen?

Ayesha Curry, who is the wife of NBA MVP Steph Curry, recently posted this picture to Instagram of her and a 2016 Mercedes-Benz G550

NBA superstars are known for driving some pretty unique cars. Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is an adamant supporter of the Kia K900 and Houston Rocket’s center Dwight Howard owns a customized Dodge Challenger Hellcat, but have you ever wondered what the wives of famous NBA players drive?

If your name is Ayesha Curry and you’re married to the reigning NBA MVP, then the answer to that question is a Mercedes-Benz G550. Mrs. Curry opted for the entry-level G-Class model rather than the high performance AMG version, but her G-Wagon still carries a starting MSRP of $119,000, according to Mercedes’ official US web site.

The 2016 Mercedes-Benz G550 comes equipped with a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission, which work together in order to create 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, the 2016 G-Wagon is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds.

Mrs. Curry’s choice of vehicle is quite different than her husband Steph, who has a fondness for the Porsche brand. Steph is known to own a Panamera sedan, as well as a 911 GT3 RS, which he was recently seen filling up by himself at a gas station in Oakland, California. The NBA all-star didn’t seem to appreciate Twitter user @idk510 taking a video of him, but his calmness prevailed as he mostly ignored the situation.

Ayesha Curry is not the only female celebrity from California to choose the G-Wagon. Rap artist Iggy Azalea drives the same Mercedes vehicle and YouTube personality Trisha Paytas had her G-Wagon painted bright pink by the famous auto shop West Coast Customs.

If Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors win the NBA championship again this year, it will be interesting to see if the Curry family celebrates by adding more vehicles to their garage.
