Biggest Fan: Hyundai Creta to Appear in New Shah Rukh Khan Film
A week after filming wrapped on Shah Rukh Khan’s next project Fan, Hyundai announced its official sponsorship of the film, with the new Creta compact SUV in the supporting cast.
As Hyundai’s ambassador in India, it’s no surprise Shah Rukh Khan’s leading performance in Fan drew the automaker’s attention for a promotional tie-in. The recently-launched vehicle will be featured “prominently” in the movie, according to the automaker.

The upcoming Hindi film Fan is directed by Maneesh Sharma (Band Baaja Baaraat, Shuddh Desi Romance), who previously worked with SRK as an assistant director on Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra (Dhoom:3, Ek Tha Tiger), who also worked with Khan and Sharma on Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Fan also stars, Waluscha De Sousa, Illeana D’Cruz, and Shriya Pilgaonkar.
Apparently Khan’s role requires special make-up work, as Academy Award-winning artist Greg Cannom–who earned acclaimed for his work on Mrs. Doubtfire and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button–has been involved. We do know that SRK will be playing a double role–as he has so often over the years–so a Prince and the Pauper-type plot wouldn’t be surprising.
According to the director, “We are attempting a never-seen before look for Shah Rukh which will be both challenging for us and exciting for the viewer. Understandably, this will be kept under wraps till the first look of the film is revealed.”
The new teaser splices together footage of the Creta’s launch commercial and the first trailer for Fan, so little new is revealed about the film, which is being kept under heavy wraps.
Fan has endured a series of setbacks due to injuries and additional special effects work, so hopefully Hyundai’s sponsorship will stir some much-needed excitement for the blockbuster film before its April 15, 2016 release date.
Prepare for Hyundai to heavily promote Fan as next spring draws closer.
