FCA Serves as Lead Sponsor for the Motor City Pride Parade
June is officially recognized across the country as LGBT Pride Month. Throughout the month, many cities host Pride Parades to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender culture.
One such city is the Motor City. Detroit held its Motor City Pride parade over the weekend, with FCA serving as the lead sponsor of the parade.
The Motor City Pride parade, a major part of the annual two-day Motor City Pride festival, was held on Sunday, June 11. Beginning at 11 a.m., the parade made its way to Hart Plaza in the heart of Detroit.
Leading the parade was the grand marshal vehicle: a 2017 Fiat 124 Spider. The roadster had been wrapped in a special rainbow banner specifically for the parade.
Also joining the Spider were Fiat 500 Cabrio and Fiat 500x models. All of these vehicles were provided by FCA as a part of its commitment to supporting LGBT rights in the Motor City and beyond.
“We are pleased to once again have a leading role supporting Motor City Pride, the largest LGBT event in the state of Michigan,” said Bob Broderdorf, Director of Passenger Car Brand Sales and Network Operations for FCA US LLC. “Motor City Pride is among the many ways FCA US and FIAT brand celebrate our inclusive work culture in which all members of our team are respected and fully engaged, developing vehicles that resonate with diverse buyers and communities.”
“Motor City Pride is empowered by the support of FCA US and the FIAT brand, helping to amplify the growth and significance of this annual event,” said Dave Wait, Chairperson for Motor City Pride. “We are so thankful for this collaborative partnership, sharing the drive to achieve full equality and respect for all people in Michigan.”
With a large LGBT support and resource group within the company, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance, FCA will undoubtedly help sponsor even more events throughout LGBT Pride Month.
