Fiat Chrysler’s March 2015 Sales Mark Five-Year Milestone
Welp, boys and girls, Fiat Chrysler has finally done it. With the release of Fiat Chrysler’s March 2015 sales report, we can officially confirm that the automaker reached the long-anticipated five-year milestone: 60 straight months of year-over-year sales gains for the company as a whole. It’s something we’ve been forecasting for a while—and something for which many of us have been keeping our fingers crossed—so it feels good to see the automaker finally reach this point, especially knowing where it was financially five years ago.
In total, Fiat Chrysler moved 197,261 units last month, which marks a 2% increase over sales in March of 2014. It also marks the automaker’s best March since 2007. Specifically, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram posted year-over-year sales gains; Jeep, in particular, shot up 23% over last year.
“March was a tough month, yet we were able to extend our year-over-year sales streak to an even 60-consecutive months,” commented Reid Bigland, Head of US Sales. “Five years of consecutive monthly year-over-year sales increases is a great symbol of FCA’s commitment to continuous improvement and a tremendous source of pride for our entire organization.”
Eight of the company’s vehicles experienced their own records last month; five of those vehicles saw their best month of sales ever. Those five include the Chrysler 200 (155% year-over-year increase), Dodge Dart, Dodge Journey, Jeep Cherokee, and Jeep Patriot. The other three record-setters were the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Compass, and Ram ProMaster van, all of which experienced their best March sales ever.
