Ford Canada sales October 2018

Ford Motor Company of Canada saw a 1.6 percent sales increase in October with a total of 21,428 vehicles delivered. The year-over-year increase was facilitated by a new best-ever October mark for the F-Series and for commercial vehicles, which have been significant in positioning Ford as the top brand in the country.

Ford and Lincoln SUVs, crossover, trucks, and vans totaled 20,098 sales in October, up 6.4 percent year-over-year. Total car sales were down 39.5 percent at 1,330 vehicles delivered.

“We’ve committed to a strategy focusing on trucks, utilities, and commercial vehicles, and we’re starting to see that strategy pay off,” said Mark Buzzell, president and CEO, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. “With exciting new vehicles on the way, including the highly anticipated return of the Ford Ranger, Canadians will have even more choice when they walk into a Ford showroom.”

F-Series sales totaled 10,874 units in October, marking eight consecutive months with 10,000 or more trucks sold. The 126,662 F-Series trucks sold through October account for nearly half of all Ford and Lincoln vehicles sold in Canada thus far in 2018.

Ford SUVs remained strong in October with the Edge posting a 3 percent increase, Explorer posting a 17 percent increase, Expedition posting a 130 percent increase, and Flex posting a 36 percent increase. Commercial sales were up 15 percent — good for a new October record — driven by a best-ever October from the Ford Transit Van and a 97 percent sales increase from the Ford E-Series.

Lincoln sales were also particularly impressive, up 49 percent year-over-year. Not only did the Navigator post its best October in 15 years, but the Lincoln MKC, MKX, MKT, and MKZ all experienced double-digit sales gains.

Through October, Ford’s total sales in Canada are down 2.5 percent at 260,759 vehicles delivered.
