Ford Details KA+, Announces Black and White Editions
In an effort to increase its ever-tightening grasp on the small car market in Europe, Ford announced in June that it would be moving the KA up into the segment to join the best-selling Fiesta. This month, the new Ford KA+ hits the market, well-equipped at the starting prices of €9,990 in Germany and £8,995 in the UK.
“Choosing a compact car should not mean having to compromise,” said Darren Palmer, small car vehicle line director, Ford of Europe. “Our all-new KA+ lives up to the high standards set by our Ford Fiesta, B-MAX and EcoSport compact cars by delivering the style, space, advanced technology and refinement that European customers want.”

Compared to the Fiesta, the KA+ is shorter and taller, and it provides best-in-class front headroom of 40.2 inches, rear legroom of 35.2 inches, and rear hip room of 52.6 inches. It also boasts 9.5 cubic-feet of storage space, or approximately enough to house two large suitcases, as well as 60/40 split-folding rear seats and 21 different areas ideal for small-item storage throughout the vehicle.
Aesthetically, the KA+ gets chrome highlights on the front grille; body-color bumpers, door handles, and mirrors; and a two-piece rear fascia with black insert. On the inside, more chrome accents are scattered across the dark charcoal upholstery.
To improve the driving experience, the Ford KA+ benefits from Fiesta-spec hydraulic engine mounts that cut down on vibration, the use of other sound-deadening materials and techniques to make the cabin even quieter, and increased door seals and rear suspension bushes.

“Ford has a long history of offering affordable small cars that are practical, economical and fun-to-drive,” said Jim Farley, executive vice president and president, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Ford Motor Company. “KA+ is true to that tradition, packing a huge amount of value into a compact car that delivers agile driving dynamics and a comfortable interior with class-leading front headroom and rear legroom.”
Ford also revealed that the KA+ will be offered in Black and White special editions later this year, which will add exclusive contrast body color combinations, 15-inch alloy wheels, and are offered exclusively with the 84-horsepower 1.2-liter Duratec engine.
