Ford F-150 EcoBoost Sales Hit 400,000 Unit Milestone
The seemingly magical EcoBoost engine has been winning awards globally, so marrying it to the outrageously popular Ford F-150 seems like a no brainer. Luckily, Ford caught onto this idea quickly, creating the perfect match usually reserved for Disney movies and romantic comedies. Since the introduction of this wondrous pairing in February 2011, Ford F-150 EcoBoost sales have reached 400,000 units, which accounts for 45 percent of all F-150s sold in that same span.
“Ford is delivering great fuel economy across our lineup, from EcoBoost in our F-150 and 15 other vehicles to our electrified vehicles,” said Doug Scott, Ford truck group marketing manager, in the automaker’s press release. “Fuel economy is the No. 1 unmet need for truck customers, which is why the F-150 EcoBoost’s leading combination of fuel economy and capability is resonating so well.”
With 400,000 units sold, the F-150 EcoBoost has helped save an estimated 45 million gallons of gas annually without sacrificing any of the power needed in a pickup. The gallons of gas saved by the pickup exceeds even that of popular Toyota and Tesla plug-in electrified vehicles sold in the U.S, while the F-150 EcoBoost outsold its nearest competitor in the western United States by 67 percent.
We think this kind of combination of fuel efficiency and power is a match made in heaven. Make sure you stop by your local Ford dealer today to see what the F-150 EcoBoost has to offer!
