Most Fuel-Efficient Police Car is Ford Special Service Sedan
Whether your local police force needs a vehicle for casually patrolling neighborhoods or chasing down speeders at high speeds, more and more of them will be driving a Ford. The Dearborn, MI automaker now officially offers the most powerful and most fuel-efficient police car on the market.
We recently told you about the Ford Taurus Police Interceptor that beat out both the Chevy Caprice V8 and Dodge Charger with a HEMI V8, and now, the EPA has certified that the Ford Special Service Police Sedan is the most fuel-efficient police car sold in the U.S. The Ford Special Service Police Sedan returns 20 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined thanks to its revolutionary 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine.
“Agencies looking to reduce their fuel expenditures, especially for non-pursuit vehicles in small rural agencies, universities and for detective work will want to take a look,” said Jonathan Honeycutt, Ford police marketing manager, in a press release. “We’ve had great feedback on the vehicle and had a lot of agencies asking about it.”
