The aftermath of a vehicular collision is one of the most stress-inducing experiences that any driver can face. It can often be difficult to determine where to turn after such a serious on-road accident. General Motors wants to help ease drivers through this process, which is why the automaker recently revealed its GM Collision Network.
The new network was revealed at NACE Automechanika Atlanta, a trade show solely dedicated to collision repair and service outlets. The service will be an expansion on General Motors’ Customer Care and Aftersales division. At its core, the goal of the GM Collision Repair Network is to help increase customer safety.
The way GM is going about this is by educating and empowering drivers during the post-collision repair process. Using OnStar, the GM Collision Repair Network connects drivers to nearby collision repair facilities. GM plans to direct drivers to repair shops and locations guaranteed to have certified staff and OEM parts.
“We put the customer at the center when we designed the GM Collision Repair Network because for them, nothing is more important than knowing they can trust in the safety and integrity of their vehicle when it leaves the repair facility,” said John Eck, collision manager for GM Customer Care and Aftersales.
The service will also be a benefit to the repair facilities included in the program. The GM Collision Repair Network will help build on the established post-collision repair processes of these locations to make them more effective and efficient.
While nobody wants to be involved in an on-road collision, GM is working hard to make sure the aftermath of such a collision is a lot less taxing.
