Hyundai Sets February Sales Record
Sales for Hyundai Motor America shot up 16 percent last month, establishing a new February record for the automaker.
Hyundai sold 53,013 vehicles for the month, beating out the same period in 2016 for the new February sales crown. Along with beating the February record, this result marked the 17th time in the past 19 months that Hyundai has achieved a sales increase.
Hyundai’s increase came as the result of continued retail sales strength. Those sales rose 26 percent while fleet sales declined 20 percent. The automaker’s SUVs extended their sales dominance as well, growing 28 percent over February 2019 and representing more than 60 percent of total units moved.
“February was the second straight month with retail sales growing more than 20 percent, a remarkable achievement that speaks to the consumer response to Hyundai’s products and the efforts of our dealer partners,” said Randy Parker, Hyundai Motor America’s vice president of national sales. “The recent launches of the all-new Palisade, Sonata, and Venue are resonating with customers and validating their status as segment-defining vehicles.”
