Last year, Genesis Motors–Hyundai’s new luxury sub-brand–debuted the G80 and the G90. While the latter earned multiple awards and received expert acclaim, the former has been the better seller of the two, raking in thrice as many sales as its sibling.
Tapping into the potential broader success of G80, Genesis is releasing a brand new trim for the 2018 G80 that’s sure to wrangle in more customers: a Sport trim that parades a hefty 3.3-liter V6 engine.
Here’s what you can expect from the 2018 Genesis G80 Sport later this year.

Premium with a Punch: 2018 Genesis G80 Sport Information
The G80 Sport hasn’t even been released yet and already Genesis has released all the information you need to know on it. Here are the main points.
Under the hood, it has a new Lambda II 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with sodium-filled exhaust valves, an 8-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® manual gear selection via paddle shifters, and available H-TRAC All-Wheel Drive with active torque control. Material enhancements were made to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness.
The inside of the G80 Sport flaunts black or grey leather with double-stitched contrast stitching and copper-accented seating surfaces.
Early pricing announcements put the RWD G80 Sport at $55,250 and AWD at $57,750.
