Let’s be real: For 99 out of 100 people who can’t afford a brand-new Lamborghini, the existence of a Lamborghini Certified Pre-Owned program probably isn’t going to help your situation or bring you any close to owning a Lambo. (And, for a brand built around the idea of exclusivity, isn’t that kind of the point?) If you’re that one in 100, though, the Selezione Lamborghini Certified Pre-Owned program might just come in handy.
‘‘This is an important new program to support the growing volume of pre-owned Lamborghini cars sold through the authorized dealer network,’’ said Automobili Lamborghini Chief Commercial Officer Federico Foschini. ‘‘In line with our growing production volumes, an increasing number of clients are deciding to buy into the Lamborghini marque, both new and pre-owned models.”

Lamborghini announced in February that its Selezione Lamborghini CPO program will include sports cars that are 84 months old or newer and have 43,500 miles or fewer on the odometer as well as Urus SUVs that are 120 months old or newer and have 62,000 miles or fewer on the odometer. Qualifying vehicles will have met regularly scheduled maintenance needs under the previous owner and passed a 150-point inspection.
All Selezione Lamborghini CPOs will include a transferrable 12-month warranty that can be extended up to 24 months, roadside assistance for the duration of the warranty, and a six-month check to make sure that the vehicle is meeting its marks. All new Lamborghinis receive a three-year factory warranty that can be extended up to five years, meaning that some Selezione Lamborghini CPOs may still have original coverage.
“Today Lamborghini is recognized as a benchmark in the segment in terms of quality and exclusivity,” Foschini added. “The purpose of Selezione Lamborghini is to now make these standards also available for those who want to take the first significant step into the Lamborghini world with the purchase of a pre-owned Lamborghini.’’
Start rubbing your pennies together, boys and girls. Your dream of owning a Lamborghini is now that much closer to becoming a near-impossibility rather than a full-blown one. The Selezione Lamborghini Certified Pre-Owned program will roll out worldwide by year’s end.
