Is There a Lincoln Navigator Presidential Trim on the Horizon?
The all-new Lincoln Navigator is still red-hot, and its high-end Black Label trim is without a doubt its hottest iteration. A high mix of Navigator Black Label sales has helped forge the way for big year-over-year sales gains and even bigger transaction prices, demonstrating the keen customer interest in fancy-shmancy Lincolns. If a new spy shot is any indication, the Lincoln Navigator might even be looking to get fancy-shmancier sometime down the road.
Feeling Hot-Hot-Hot: The 2019 Lincoln Navigator reigns as the king of luxury SUVs
Ford Authority on Thursday published a spy shot depicting a Lincoln Navigator wearing a “Presidential” script badge below the taillamp on the right side of its liftgate. To its left, Michigan manufacturer plates, indicating that this is indeed the test mule for what will presumably be dubbed the Lincoln Navigator Presidential. This is the first and only rumbling of any such Navigator, and given its uncamouflaged exterior, it likely isn’t going to do much to reinvent the wheel.
More likely, the eventual Lincoln Navigator Presidential would be an even higher high-end iteration of the Navigator. Ford Authority’s Sam McEachern suggests such features as foldout tray tables, and you could potentially even go a step further by suggesting super fancy-shmancy stuff like an icebox in the rear armrest for champagne, rear seats with massage functionality, built-in fragrance system, and, hey, why not full protection against small-arms fire?
