[Photos] All-New Ford EcoSport Revealed; First Details Released
Ford revealed the first salvo in its four-model SUV offensive on Monday, presenting the all-new EcoSport to North American customers. Scheduled to hit dealerships in early 2018, the EcoSport was the first new vehicle of any kind to debut on Snapchat and will be the primary focus of a three-day, interactive pop-up event taking place in Hollywood through Wednesday.
“More people are choosing to spend their time and money sharing experiences with friends and family instead of buying more stuff,” said Chantel Lenard, executive director, Ford U.S. marketing. “EcoSport fits perfectly into this growing lifestyle. It’s our smallest SUV, packed with features and personality.”

Ford detailed that the new EcoSport will be powered by either the 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost or the 2.0-liter four-cylinder, with both mated to six-speed automatic transmission and the latter engine option coming with standard Intelligent 4WD.
Because the EcoSport will likely be aimed at a younger demographic, as evidenced by its Snapchat debut, Ford will play up its connectivity and interior versatility in addition to its fun-to-drive qualities. Ford states that the EcoSport Titanium will be offered with a premium B&O PLAY audio system, which will feature 10 speakers, tweeters and woofers in the front door, and a subwoofer in the back. The EcoSport will also be offered with HD Radio, SiriusXM. SYNC 3 with an eight-inch floating touchscreen, SYNC Connect with FordPass, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
To emphasize utility, Ford outlined that the new EcoSport will feature up to 30 stowage bins, a cargo management system, and a swing-gate-style tailgate. To emphasize personality, the EcoSport will be offered with 10 exterior color choices, seven ambient lighting options, and an SES trim that will feature sport-tuned performance and exclusive aesthetic touches.
If you are in LA this week, the Ford EcoSport Go Small, Live Big experience runs from 2-10 pm today and tomorrow at Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. Components include live music, local food, and lifestyle-oriented activities.
