[PHOTOS] Hyundai Shows Off 2019 Veloster N Hot Hatch

Later this year, the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N will become the first N-brand model to hit the U.S. market. Last week at a race track in California, Hyundai offered its closest look yet at the high-performance hatchback.

In case you’re wondering what differentiates this model from Hyundai’s three Veloster Turbo trims, here’s a look at some of the Veloster N’s unique features and specs.

Performance

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster N is powered by a 2.0-liter direct-injected turbo engine that makes 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. An optional performance package boosts its output to 275 horsepower. In both cases, that’s a considerable increase in power over the Veloster Turbo, whose 1.6-liter engine puts out 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The Veloster N pairs its engine with a short-throw six-speed manual transmission that offers downshift rev-matching and a double-layer facing clutch disc.

The Veloster N is equipped with a multi-mode electronically controlled suspension, an N Power Sense Axle, and an available torque-vectoring N Corner-Carving limited-slip differential. Thanks to these features, the Veloster N offers responsive handling, precise steering, and tight cornering even at high speeds. The N Grin Control drive mode selection system gives drivers a wide range of options to customize performance, handling, and control.

Exterior

The 2019 Hyundai Veloster N stands out with an array of unique design elements. In front, the fascia and grille feature an exclusive N design. The rear incorporates an N-design spoiler and fascia with a high-flow dual exhaust and integrated diffuser. Along the sides are N-design rocker side sills. The Veloster N is also available with distinctive 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels. Hyundai offers four exterior paint colors to choose from: Ultra Black, Racing Red, Chalk White, and N-exclusive Performance Blue.

Interior

The interior of the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N is loaded with exclusive features. The performance-bolstered sport seats, steering wheel, shift knob, sill plates, interior accents, and instrument cluster have all been designed especially for this model. The door sill plates and seats feature an N logo. The center cluster displays key information, including a sequential shift indicator to maximize performance.
