Street-Ready 2013 Chevy Sonic RS
Last month, we introduced you to the Chevy Sonic RS that will be starring alongside Mark Wahlberg and Kelsey Grammer in Transformers 4, and today, Chevy is unveiling the variant of the Sonic RS that you will be able to get behind the wheel of. And no, it doesn’t have the ability to transform into an Autobot.
Despite not being able to fulfill our childhood dreams of fighting Decepticons, the 2013 Sonic RS does have some pretty cool features. The Sonic RS features a seven-inch touch screen equipped with the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system that connects to your smartphone.
The interior of the 2013 Sonic RS is adorned with leather and red RS stitching accents, as well as unique RS badging throughout the vehicles. The exterior flaunts Sonic-established sporty styling with the addition of 17-inch wheels, a new front fascia, refreshed exhaust and RS and Turbo badging.
The aesthetic enhancements are nice, but the improved powertrain is what allows this Sonic to where the RS badge. The standard 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder has been performance tuned and now pumps out 138 horsepower and 148 lb.-ft. of torque.
It’s not quite a Transformer, but the 2013 Chevy Scion RS is a pretty cool ride for the driver searching for an exhilarating ride under $21,000.
