Subaru Announces 2016 Series.HyperBlue Limited Edition for WRX STI, BRZ

Last year, Subaru released the 2015 Series.HyperBlue limited edition package for the Subaru BRZ. It was met with great success, so Subaru has revived the package as the 2016 Series.HyperBlue limited edition, but not just for the BRZ. Subaru will be extending the package to the WRX STI as well. In total, Subaru plans to create 700 WRX STI Series.HyperBlue models here in the United States, and 500 BRZ editions—dream big, Subaru, because BRZ sales have been plummeting due to the success of its more popular models. Pricing for both models will be announced in the fall.

Both the WRX STI and the BRZ Series.HyperBlue models will feature the 2016 Series.HyperBlue paint on the exterior and a matching interior trim. For the WRX STI, it also means blue stitching for the Alcantara seats, manual transmission shifter boot, leather wrapped steering wheel, console, and the carpeted floor mats featuring the Cherry Red STI logo. In addition the Series.HyperBlue WRX STI will sit on 18-inch BBS Black Alloy wheels and feature a 7.0-inch Multimedia Navigation System with 9 Harman/Kardon speakers and the SUBARU STARLINK system.

Standard on the Series.HyperBlue variant of the WRX STI is Keyless Access with Push-Button Start and PIN Code Access. Drivers will be greeted with Welcome Lighting.

As for the BRZ, the Series.HyperBlue limited edition package will offer an “exclusive design scheme,” which includes Hyper blue leather seat bolsters and head restraints, as well as blue stitching for the seats, steering wheel, shift lever boot, and leather-wrapped parking brake handle, among other locations. The 2016 Series.HyperBlue BRZ rides on 17-inch black alloy wheels.
