Even though the ARX Rallycross events at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres in Quebec concluded earlier this week, the track shows no sign of cooling down. The Canadian-exclusive Nissan Micra Cup will celebrate its 60th race this weekend, and the competition is set to be fierce.

The current championship leader, Kevin King, is looking to solidify his lead over the other racers, including rookie driver Marco Signoretti, who held the top spot up until the previous race at Circuit Mont-Tremblant.

Other notable competitors include Michel Barrette — a well-known actor and comedian — his son Nicolas, and brand three brand new drivers: Charles Deschenes, Nathan Gilbert, and Mario Dufour.

The races, which will take place on Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th, are free to any Canadian Nissan Micra owners. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to meet the racers during an autograph session immediately following Sunday’s race.

The weekend’s events will also give Nissan enthusiasts an opportunity to check out the automaker’s 100 percent electric LEAF NISMO RC, which will serve as the official pace car for both races.

If you’re interested in watching the races but can’t make it to Quebec for the festivities, you’re in luck, as both will be live-streamed on the series’ YouTube page — Micra Cup TV.

After this weekend, the series’ fifth season will continue with events held during the NASCAR Weekend in Ontario later in August, and conclude with the Fall Classic in Quebec at the end of September.
