Toyota Camry SE Turbo Could Be A Thing
We just need to ask Toyota reeeeeeeeeeeeeally nicely.
You know the Toyota Camry. It’s a sedan, and it’s extremely popular with American drivers. It’s not the world’s most exciting car, but it’s reliable, safe, and practical. And it’s even being redesigned for the 2015 model year, which is sure to jazz it up a few notches. The Camry will also come with numerous new trims, such as the XSE, which combines sporty looks with luxurious comfort. One thing the Camry isn’t scheduled to have is a turbocharged engine, but the experts at Torque News argue that this could very possibly change if Toyota considers adding a Camry SE turbo to its lineup.
You see, when the 2015 Lexus NX 200t crossover debuts later this year, it’ll come with a nice new 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged motor. Great news for Lexus fans, which could mean great news for Toyota Camry drivers. The Japanese automaker has hinted in the past that this fierce new engine could eventually make its way into other vehicles from Toyota’s three brands (Toyota, Lexus, and Scion), and putting such an engine in the 2015 Camry could ramp up sales even more than is currently expected with the introduction of the new generation.
The introduction of a Camry SE turbo could be precisely what Toyota needs in order to draw a new segment of drivers to the model, and we can only hope that the automaker will consider this for 2015, or even 2016! You’ll be the first to know if it happens—stay tuned to The News Wheel for updates!
