Toyota Cleans Up in 2014 Green Car Guide
The Automobile Club of Southern California has published its 2014 Green Car Guide, and things are looking pretty good for Toyota. The automaker’s three brands each picked up a top ten spot in the prestigious guide, marking them as excellent choices for eco-friendly drivers not just in California, but from across the United States.
The soon-to-be-extinct Toyota RAV4 EV was awarded the second spot in the top ten overall green vehicles list, while the Lexus GS 450h came in fourth. In the “best value” vehicle category, the Scion iQ came in fourth, completing Toyota’s green hat trick.

When deciding which vehicles should make the list, the Auto Club evaluated a number of categories, including EPA ratings, handling, vehicle emissions, cargo capacity, and interior noise. Reviewers gave each vehicle a score in each category, and then divided the cumulative scores by MSRP in order to establish value for money.

Customers appreciate this type of unbiased data and we’re proud to see our Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles recognized as top picks.”
