To help incentivize getting behind the wheel of their all-electric RAV4, Toyota is offering a discount via low-cost lease and loan offers. Toyota hopes that the move will help boost sales for its compact crossover, which is powered by a Tesla Motors battery pack and motor.

According to Bloomberg, Toyota is promoting a $299/month, three-year lease option and a 60-month, no-interest loan in order to motivate customers to consider the RAV4 EV when making back-to-school, back-to-work, or just because vehicle shopping decisions. Toyota spokeswoman Carly Schaffner states that the offers will run until September 3 and are only available in the Los Angeles and San Francisco markets.




Toyota is largely regarded as the world’s premier green auto maker, thanks to the brand’s 3-million-plus selling Prius and the recent announcement from the Intellectual Property Owners Association that Toyota filed for more green patents in 2012 than any other automotive company. Toyota’s $100 million partnership with Tesla, whose Model S electric sedan has been making a considerable splash in the auto world, is further proof of their efforts to make the world a little greener a step at a time.
