Toyota at SEMA: What to Expect
The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show is about to get underway in Las Vegas, and car enthusiasts across the country are gearing up to see what their favorite automakers will have on display. So for all you Toyota fans, here’s a roundup of what you can expect to see from Toyota at SEMA.
2015 Tundra TRD Pro Desert Race Truck
The first of many impressive modified vehicles on display is the Tundra TRD Pro Desert Race Truck, which will compete in the 47th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 in the Full Size Stock class from November 12th through the 16th in Ensenada, Mexico. The truck has been made race-ready through the addition of a welded roll-cage, tubular bumpers, Bilstein shocks, and three racing seats. The race team will be coached by Ivan “Ironman” Stewart, who claims 11 Baja 500 and two Baja 1000 wins. The truck will make a stop at SEMA before heading south to fulfill its destiny.
2015 TRD Pro Vehicles
The three original TRD Pro vehicles—the Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner—will also be on display at the SEMA show. The TRD Pro off-road kits are available on all four-wheel-drive versions of the three vehicles for 2015, and include heavy-duty alloy wheels, a dual-cat back exhaust system, and Bilstein monotube shocks with remote reservoirs. The TRD Pro trucks are available to purchase across the country, so if you’re a fan of off-roading in your spare time, you’re in luck.
FT-1 Concept
The FT-1 Concept has been strutting its stuff across the nation since its unveiling this past January at the Detroit Auto Show. The stunning sports car, which is rumored to be the inspiration for a long-awaited Supra follow-up, was designed by Toyota’s Calty Design Research, which also designed an FT-1 version for download in Gran Turismo 6.
2015 Sienna:Remix
Toyota has been busily trying to convince the world that the Sienna is much cooler than your ordinary minivan with its “Swagger Wagon” advertising campaign. The Sienna:Remix is the result of a collaboration between West Coast Customs and SiriusXM. While the interior is being kept under wraps until SEMA, the exterior has received some cool upgrades, like custom mesh wheels, a blacked-out grille, and color-matched emblems. We’ll have to wait until SEMA to see what lies beneath!
2015 DUB Edition Sienna and Yaris
For this year’s SEMA show, DUB Magazine created a customized Sienna and Yaris that will highlight the versatility of Toyota vehicles. Both vehicles will feature widebody fender flares, which make them wider, sleeker, and lower to the ground. The Yaris features 20-inch Dropstars DS643 wheels, while the Sienna boasts 22-inchers. Additionally, a lower suspension setup, TRD Big Brake Kits, and custom paint jobs, both the DUB Edition Sienna and Yaris can finally be said to actually have swagger.
Stay tuned to check out Toyota at SEMA next week when the vehicles debut.
