Waze, the navigation app that recently updated to its streamlined 4.0 version, announced this week that it has added none other than C-3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens to its voice navigation option. And, yes, before you ask, C-3PO does most of the talking, which means you won’t need to spend too much time figuring out whether R2-D2’s clicks and whistles mean turn left or turn right.
Of course, one of the more entertaining social aspects of Waze is the opportunity to rack up points by reporting traffic incidents and gobbling up road munchies. With the Star Wars update, you’ll happen across everything from TIE fighters to Kylo Ren’s lightsaber on your trip. Driving over these icons will net you extra points, and if you happen to find either R2-D2 or BB-8, you’ll grab even more bonus points.
From Stephen Colbert to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Waze has really been hitting it out of the park with its fun navigation options. Here’s hoping they get around to acquiring the talents of Tommy Wiseau here before too long.
