The award is a nice validation for the Japanese automaker, which has been redesigning and expanding its SUV lineup for the past year, beginning with the launch of the refreshed 2015 CR-V in the fall of 2014. The all-new HR-V crossover and redesigned third-gen Pilot followed in the spring and summer, respectively. The trio of vehicles have led Honda’s light truck sales to a record 550,210 units through October, good for a 13.6% increase over 2014’s results.
Additionally, the Honda CR-V is set to wrap up its fourth consecutive year as America’s best-selling SUV.
