2014 Nissan Frontier Overview
What’s New for the 2014 Nissan Frontier
The 2014 Nissan Frontier has seen only minor standard and optional equipment updates.
2014 Nissan Frontier Exterior
There’s no denying that the 2014 Frontier is built to be solid. With a rugged front façade and bold, muscular lines running throughout its body, the pickup truck practically breathes durability and capability. Add the option of either a king size or crew cab, and you’ve got a versatile pickup that is perfect for anyone.
2014 Nissan Frontier Performance
Two different engines are offered for the Nissan Frontier. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder comes standard with the extended-cab S and SV models, producing 152 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque with a standard five-speed manual and rear-wheel-drive, along with an optional five-speed automatic.
A 4.0-liter V6 engine comes optional for the SV extended cab and standard for all other models, churning out 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic comes with the S, SV, and Pro-4X, while the Desert Runner and SL are automatic only.
2014 Nissan Frontier Efficiency
For the manual-shift rear-drive V6 models, EPA estimated fuel-economy is 19 mpg combined, while the all-wheel-drive drops the fuel economy to 18 combined. Automatic V6 Frontiers get an 18 combined with rear-wheel-drive and 17 combined with all-wheel-drive.
2014 Nissan Frontier Interior
Comfort and practicality come together to create a simple, versatile interior. The dashboard and controls are set up in a clean, easy-to-use design, while cargo room is plentiful. In the King Cab, the fold-down jump seats provide only enough room for short trips, while the crew cab’s rear seats have plenty of room for all passengers.
2014 Nissan Frontier Safety
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Frontier their highest possible rating of “Good” in moderate-overlap frontal-offset, side-impact, and roof strength tests. Standard safety features include antilock disc brakes, stability control, front-seat side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags, along with a brake-activated limited-slip differential. Rear parking sensors and a rearview camera are also available on all Frontiers, with the exception of S and Desert Runner models.
