Meet the New Boss: 2015 Mustang Outsells Camaro
2014 Mustang sales have been lagging behind those of the rival Camaro for a large portion of the year as drivers anticipated the release of the new 2015 model. Finally coming to market in October, the 2015 Mustang blazed through its first full sales month in November by posting the pony car’s best mark since 2006 with 8,728 units delivered. More importantly, it knocked the Camaro out of its seat as monthly sales champion, reestablishing the Mustang as the driving force of the segment.
Sales of the 2015 Mustang increased on the previous year’s sales by an impressive 62%, thanks in large part to nearly a full year’s worth of hype surrounding its release. Comparatively, the Camaro only managed to sell 4,385 units, almost exactly half of what Ford moved.
Granted, the Mustang would need to pull off a miracle comeback to take the overall crown for 2014. At present, the Camaro has moved 79,669 examples to 73,124 Mustangs.
