2016 Chevy Silverado Named Best New Pickup by AJAC
The Automotive Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) has named the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 “Best New Pickup,” honoring the truck’s sharp design and improved performance for the new model year.
“We’re honoured that AJAC has recognized the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Silverado as the best new pickup in Canada,” said Joe De Stefano, Chevrolet Truck Brand Manager. “This award is testament that the Silverado builds on Chevy Trucks’ legacy of dependability with a dramatic new design, advanced connectivity and enhanced customer-focused technologies that make Chevrolet the fastest growing pick-up truck brand in Canada.”
To determine the winners of the award, AJAC holds a TestFest every October at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The event is attended by more than 80 journalists, all of whom test nominees in on-road and off-road situations and determine their favorites based on everything from performance, comfort, and efficiency.
The 2016 Chevy Silverado features a new front fascia and hood, as well as fine-tuned use of the eight-speed automatic transmission and a variety of powertrain choices.
