The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica was named the Overall Best Family Car at the GAAMA 2016 Family Car Challenge
It’s easy to see that the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is changing how we look at the minivan segment. Not only has it recruited the hilarious Jim Gaffigan to pitch it to other dads, but it offers some features that the segment has never seen before—including a hybrid powertrain, which will come later this year.
Because of its ground-breaking approach to being a family car, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the 2017 Pacifica was recently named the Overall Best Family Car at the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association’s (GAAMA) 2016 Family Car Challenge.

To decide the winners of each category, more than 40 journalists drove 24 vehicles from a variety of brands. The journalists then voted for their favorite vehicles—and the 2017 Pacifica came out on top with ease.
“GAAMA works hard at this event to evaluate a variety of vehicles for family friendliness and functionality,” said Christopher Lawrence, GAAMA President and CEO of AutoAcademics. “Our members were thoroughly impressed by the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. It’s a home run for today’s busy families, offering versatility, functionality, technology, and an attractive design all in one vehicle.”
Along with Chrysler’s new minivan earning the Overall Best Family Car award, it was also recognized as the Best Value Family Car winner. But it wasn’t the only Fiat Chrysler vehicle to earn an award during the Family Car Challenge. The 2016 Ram 1500 was also named the Best Family Pickup Truck.
