2017 Nissan GT-R Performance

The 2017 Nissan GT-R Premium comes equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that provides 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque. Each motor is built by hand and upon completion, the elite engineer who constructed that engine attaches a plate to the motor with their name on it. The track-focused 2017 GT-R Nismo features a tuned up version of the twin-turbo V6 that pumps out 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to this powerful engine, along with other equipment like launch control, all-wheel drive, and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, the 2017 GT-R can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds.

Moreover, every new Nissan GT-R comes standard with a 19.5 gallon fuel tank.

One of the other big changes made to the 2017 Nissan GT-R can be found inside its cabin. While the previous GT-R featured a slightly confusing layout and 27 buttons in total, the ‘17 GT-R only makes use of 11 buttons to make things simpler to operate. In addition, the 7-inch touchscreen that was used in the 2016 model has been swapped out and replaced with a larger eight-inch display. This sports car also comes standard with NissanConnect, which can be used to pull up mobile apps and operate the navigation technology. Lastly, while the seats are now covered in high-quality Nappa leather, the rear seats are still probably best suited for younger kids.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) does not usually perform safety tests on expensive sports cars and neither does the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). These two agencies did not make an exception for the Nissan GT-R, so there is no crash test information available to share. However, each new GT-R does come standard with an electronic stability and traction control, a Brembo braking system, and a rearview camera.
