What’s New for the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

Similar to the upgrades on the Silverado 2500HD, the new Silverado 3500HD includes a few new cosmetic tweaks for the 2018 model year. Like the 2500HD version, it comes in two new exterior colors: Cajun Red Tintcoat and Havana Metallic. Updated audio systems allow for clearer sound and a more expansive listening range for all passengers. Updated grille designs manifest on the Z71 package as well as the High country trim level. Lastly, the Z71 and 4×4 options boast a new box side decals.

Personalize the new Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD to suit your needs. This beast is available in either 2WD or 4WD, and comes in four trim levels: WT, LT, LTZ, and High Country.

Chevy also lets you further customize your truck based on cabin and truck bed size preference. For instance, WT and LT trims are available in Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab body styles. The LTZ trim is available in Double Cab and Crew Cab body styles; and the High Country trim is available as Crew Cab models only.

Regular Cab and Double Cab models are available with Long Box only; Crew Cab models are available with either Standard Box or Long Box. All Long Box models are available in Single Rear or Dual Rear Wheel configurations.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD Performance

There are two engine options to choose from on the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD. The 6-liter V8 comes standard, although a 6.6-liter Turbo Diesel V8 is also available. Both powertrains employ a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 6-liter version which outputs 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, to suit moderate hauling tasks. For more might, you can’t go wrong with the stamina of the 6.6-liter Turbo Diesel V8 version, which dishes out 445 horsepower and an impressive 910 lb-ft of torque.

The new 3500HD outshines the 2500HD in terms of towing prowess, making it perfect to tackle your heaviest jobs. Although the 6-liter V8 engine has just a 14,600-pound towing capacity, the 6.6-liter Turbo-Diesel V8 version stuns with a 23,300-pound rating.
