What’s New for the 2018 Nissan Maxima?

For the 2018 model year, Nissan has rigged the Maxima with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as two USB rear charge ports that come standard no matter what trim you select. External updates include black accents on the V-motion grille as well as the Carnelian Red body color which expands the model’s available hues.

Turn heads each time you set out on the road, with the sleek profile of the new Maxima. Whether you prefer a neutral color such as black or grey, or a vibrant color like the Carnelian Red, you’re sure to enjoy traveling inside of this contemporary passenger car.

The 2018 Maxima is available in six shades: Deep Blue Pearl, Super Black, Gun Metallic, Brilliant Silver, Pearl White, and Carnelian Red. (The last two colors listed are available for an extra cost.)

There’s only one powertrain available on the Maxima, even though there are five different trim levels. But who’s complaining, when it’s such a forceful one? Each model comes equipped with a 5-liter V6 engine paired to Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission with Drive Mode Selector. Enjoy channeling 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque each time you step behind the wheel.

While fans of the Maxima tend to favor potency over fuel conservation, this model’s efficiency is reasonable for a car of its class. It yields an EPA-estimated 30 mpg on the highway, which makes it a sensible choice for those who appreciate mileage but crave an energetic driving experience even more.

While the rear sat is a bit more cramped than other vehicles of its class, the 2018 Maxima provides more than enough modern features to make up for it. Each model comes standard with an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system that’s easy to use. Navigation, Bluetooth, satellite radio, and HD Radio are also a given on each trim. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto amplify the affluence of the interior, and provide two additional ways to keep you entertained on long drives.
