Even just a few years ago, the future of the Buick Regal line seemed rather uncertain. In response to this uncertainty, Buick made the bold choice to split the Regal into two separate models: the Buick Regal TourX and the Buick Regal Sportback.
Ultimately, Buick’s bold move paid off, as Regal sales began to climb after the introduction of the TourX and the Sportback. In fact, the Buick Regal Sportback has been such a hit that Buick has decided to add its prestigious Avenir trim to the vehicle’s lineup for the 2019 model year.

What’s New for the 2019 Buick Regal Sportback?
The most significant upgrade for the 2019 Buick Regal Sportback is the addition of the Avenir trim level. Much like the Regal TourX, the Regal Sportback is also receiving an ionizing air cleaner for a select number of its higher trims.
The 2019 Buick Regal Sportback is available at six trim levels: the Sportback, Preferred, Preferred II, Essence, Avenir, and GS.
The Preferred II and Essence are available with either FWD or AWD. The Sportback, Preferred, and Avenir are only offered with FWD, while the Regal GS is only offered with AWD.

2019 Buick Regal Sportback Performance
Most trim levels of the 2019 Buick Regal Sportback come equipped with a 2.0-liter Turbo four-cylinder engine. This powertrain produces up to 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.
Still, if drivers desire even more power, then they can upgrade to the Regal’s GS model. The 3.6-liter V6 engine of the Regal GS generates 310 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque.
