The luxury world is anticipating for the arrival of the Cadillac XT4, which began appearing at showrooms in China at the end of August and is slated to be appearing around the United States in mid-October. Cadillac this month confirmed that its stylish compact SUV will also be arriving south of the border when the XT4 arrives in Mexico beginning this November.
“Cadillac is gaining momentum in Mexico and the arrival of XT4 will allow us to get closer to new customers who want their vehicle to become an accomplice for the day to day,” said Pedro Ruiz, Director of Marketing for General Motors de México. “We are confident that XT4 will be placed among the preferred ones thanks to its set of amenities in technology and connectivity, among other qualities.”
New to Cadillac? Here’s what you need to know about using OnStar services
There are a couple of major notable differences between the Cadillac XT4 offered stateside and the version offered in Mexico. Foremost is the fact that Mexico will only get the XT4 Premium Luxury trim, foregoing the entry-level Luxury trim and missing out on the top-tier Sport trim available elsewhere. Mexico’s XT4 Premium Luxury will only be available in front-wheel drive, whereas the former is also available with twin-clutch all-wheel drive.
The 2019 Cadillac XT4 Premium Luxury sold in Mexico will feature the 237-horsepower 2.0-liter Turbo engine, the first tripower offering in the auto industry with three available modes that optimize power, efficiency, or a balance between both. This engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic with Electronic Precision Shift. Other notable features offered with the XT4 Premium Luxury include OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Teen Driver technology, and Cadillac User Experience 3.0.
