2019 Chevy Colorado Sales on the Rise in the U.S.
GM is having major success with the Chevrolet Colorado in the United States. Chevy Colorado sales are up 16 percent in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same timeframe in 2018. U.S. consumers bought 33,494 to kick off 2019.

This year-over-year jump is the largest increase among its competitors, yet the Toyota Tacoma still holds the most market share: 45 percent to the Colorado’s 26 percent.
Still, Chevrolet cannot be complaining about the upward trend of sold units for the Chevy Colorado in recent months. Besides besting the GMC Canyon, it beat out other competitors like the Nissan Frontier and the Ford Ranger with an amount of units that is more than those two trucks combined. Frontier finished third with 20,221, while the Ranger ended up with 9,421.
On the flipside, the Colorado evened out in year-over-year quarter-one sales in Mexico. It sold 406 units in the first few months of this year — one unit down from 2018’s quarter one.
Toyota has carried a strong reputation for midsize trucks and lead Chevrolet by a wide margin. It also has done well with fleet and commercial buyers. Yet Chevy has time to gain ground before the end of the year.
Happy Fleet: Customers do buy Chevrolet and here’s why
Toyota has carefully rolled out more incentives for the Tacoma than Chevy has with the Colorado. As we near summer, Chevrolet may find a boost to get them into contention with the Tacoma sales.
The upcoming months will prove to be telling in the sales battle with the fifth model year of the second-generation Chevy Colorado.
