Each year the editors at Kelley Blue Book analyze cars in their 5-Year Cost to Own rankings, and for the eighth year in a row, the Chevy Impala has been ranked highest in the category of Best Full-Size Car.

Check Out: The 2019 Chevrolet Impala

“Chevrolet’s Impala nameplate has been around, on-and-off, since 1958 and while it remains a full-size sedan, measuring over 200 inches nose-to-tail, it doesn’t have much in common with those bloated boulevard cruisers of decades past,” according to the KBB experts. “The 2019 Impala features a stylish, coupe-like roofline while still offering plenty of interior space and great visibility.”

The editors also praised its peppy-performing available 3.6-liter V6, which puts out an impressive 305 horsepower. The standard 2.5-liter ECOTEC® four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission pairing generates 197 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque.

“Despite its mass, the 2019 Chevrolet Impala has an unexpected spryness to its handling, but it’s just as comfortable as those classic versions were in decades past,” added the KBB experts.

The 2019 Chevrolet Impala is available at three trim levels: LS, LT, and Premier. When equipped with the standard engine, it earns an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The available V6 delivers an EPA-estimated 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
