When you think of the idea of real people, your family and friends may flash in your mind. You may consider your school teachers, professional sports icons, political leaders, or other heroes in your life as grounded, down-to-earth human beings.

What do they all have in common? They all need a real means of transportation to get them to real places. In one of its latest ads, Chevrolet argues that the 2019 Chevy Silverado is that vehicle. In fact, the GM automaker goes as far as to label it the “Truck of Real People.”

The video starts out showing the hard work lifestyle of modern day Americans. You see an older man with calloused hands, driving a new Chevy Silverado though a rugged desert area with rocky hills in the background.

It also depicts construction workers putting in a good day’s work at the railroad. Next, we see an all-too-familiar shot of a driver starting her commute to work. The following shot consists of two men loading bales of hay into the cargo bed of the Silverado.

We then catch two different kinds of nights — late nights and date nights. Firemen jump into the back of a Silverado after fighting a fire, while a couple enjoys a relaxing evening of stargazing in the back of another Silverado.

The final scene displays a homecoming parade and a soldier returning home from combat to her family.

We then see a wide-angle shot of the 2019 Chevy Silverado, in which the narrator says, “The all-new Chevy Silverado — the strongest, most advanced Silverado ever. It’s the official truck of real people.”
