In a battle among six of America’s bestselling sport utility vehicles, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe prevailed and was named the victor in the Cars.com SUV Mid-Size Challenge.

The competitors were tested and rated by experts based on 17 different criteria, including handling, ride quality, seat comfort, infotainment features, and amenities.

The Santa Fe tested in the challenge was the top-of-the-line Ultimate trim level, and it was a big hit among the judges.

“The Santa Fe is a home run for value, with the most generous buffet of luxury features and advanced tech in the midsize group for the lowest price by a lot — barely more than some top-trim compact SUVs,” said Fred Meier, Cars.com Washington bureau chief and a competition judge. “The touch-screen design is a master class for others, with a wide screen, fast response, line-of-sight placement, and rear shortcut buttons and knobs packaged around the screen.”

The 2019 Santa Fe is an all-new model, featuring a wide range of new features, technologies, and family-friendly elements. It’s been rated as an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ and received the NHTSA’s 5-Star Safety Rating.

“The Santa Fe includes advanced safety, comfort, and convenience technologies as a direct result of our listening to customers’ needs,” said Scott Margason, Hyundai Motor America’s director of product planning. “The recognition by Cars.com, placing Santa Fe as the leader in the mid-size SUV challenge in a highly competitive landscape, further emphasizes Hyundai’s commitment to our customers.”

This is the sixth major award snared by the 2019 Santa Fe, which has also won a Kelley Blue Book Long-Term Ownership Value Award, J.D. Power Most Dependable Midsize SUV, Wards Best Interior, ALG Redesign of the Year, and a Good Design Award.
