Parents.com named the 2019 Subaru Forester and Subaru Ascent to its list of “10 Best Family Cars of 2019” this week for their commitment to convenience, value, and safety.

This family-focused website carries a knack for finding tried-and-true vehicles for millennial moms and dads. In selecting this company of cars, Parents.com closely assessed 30 vehicles in the following three groups: Best 2-Row SUVs, Best 3-Row SUVs, and Best Minivans.

“Second to the home, the car is at the center of our parenting universe,” said Liz Vaccariello, Editor-in-Chief of Parents. “Moms and dads need a vehicle that can handle their squad and haul all of their stuff. In developing this list, we wanted to evaluate what’s important to families at a level that exceeds other car rankings. This meant understanding the fundamental features needed in a vehicle, while also keeping in-car entertainment, and of course, safety top of mind.”

Safety first

The three-row Ascent and two-row Forester stamp a huge emphasis on safety with their generous array of standard features. Their EyeSight Driver Assist Technology offers Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control. They also provide families with a five-point LATCH system in the second row to easy installation of child seats.

Along with these options, both SUVs received a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS and collected a “Superior” grade in front crash prevention, which is the highest possible rating.

Valuable accessibility

For convenience, both SUVs utilize a high-resolution touchscreen and multimedia systems with smartphone connectivity for iPhone and Android devices. Passengers can connect to available Wi-Fi to stream music off the Internet as well.

The Ascent is the largest Subaru in existence with an abundant supply of space for belongings and occupants.  Over 76 cubic feet of cargo space resides in the 2019 Forester. It averages an EPA-estimated 33 highway mpg on one tank of gas.
