“Built on VW’s MQB platform, the seventh-generation Jetta offers a bolder design, greater interior space, lots of tech, and an EPA-estimated 40 highway mpg fuel efficiency rating, a milestone often achieved by hybrid powertrains, but in this case delivered by the Jetta’s 1.4-liter TSI®-gasoline engine,” said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal and GreenCarJournal.com.

The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta is available at five trim levels: S, SE, R-Line, SEL, and SEL Premium. Each trim is powered by a 1.4-liter turbo engine paired to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic® and Sport modes. The powertrain puts out 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The 2019 Jetta features Volkswagen Car-Net® App-Connect, Bluetooth® technology with audio streaming for compatible devices, a 6.5-inch color display, and rear view camera system as standard features. Available driver assist technologies include Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, Rear Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping System, High Beam Control, and Blind Spot Monitor.
